What Full Arch Reconstruction Actually Is

Full arch reconstruction is not simply a row of individual tooth replacements. Instead, a carefully calculated number of implants are positioned throughout the jaw to serve as the foundation for an entire arch of teeth. As Dr. Raynes puts it, “You don’t necessarily do an implant per tooth, but you place enough implants to be able to hold a full arch of teeth.” The fixed prosthesis that attaches to those implants is sometimes called a hybrid restoration because it combines the stability of a fixed bridge with the full-coverage scope of a complete denture.

How the Process Works

Full-arch reconstruction involves a few distinct phases, and knowing what to expect at each stage makes the experience much more manageable.

The Consultation and Planning Phase

Every full arch case begins with a thorough evaluation. During your initial visit, we assess your jaw, existing teeth, and surrounding tissues to develop a treatment plan tailored to your anatomy. Digital imaging plays a central role here, giving us a precise picture of bone structure before a single implant is placed. Our advanced technology allows us to plan each implant position with accuracy so the final result fits naturally and functions reliably.

Implant Placement and Healing

Once the plan is finalized, the implant posts are placed into the jawbone at strategic angles to maximize stability and bone contact. Over the following weeks, the implants integrate with the surrounding bone through a process called osseointegration, forming a durable anchor for the final restoration. Thanks to our on-site dental lab, we coordinate closely between the clinical and fabrication sides of your care, which keeps the process moving and reduces the delays common at offices that send work out.

The Final Restoration

After integration is complete, the custom arch is attached to the implants. Our lab technicians craft each restoration by hand, ensuring a fit, color, and contour that complements your natural facial features. Previously, milling certain restorations required sending work to an outside lab.
